What we collect

The PDF statements you upload, the transactions we extract from them, your email and billing details if you subscribe (billing is handled by Stripe; we never see your full card number), and basic usage data such as page counts and IP address for rate limits.

How long we keep it

Uploaded files are written to a temporary file only while they are processed and are deleted as soon as processing ends. Extracted results are held in memory only (never written to disk) for up to 1 hour so you can download them, then discarded. To avoid charging twice for the same file, we keep a one-way fingerprint (SHA-256 hash) of each uploaded file and its page count for 24 hours; the file itself is never stored. Page counts and account records are kept while your account is active and for up to 12 months after.

AI processing

No person at BalancedRows views your files. When pages are hard to read (scanned images or text that our parser cannot read), its text (never the image) is sent to our AI provider, xAI, through its API. Under xAI's API terms, inputs and outputs are not used to train its models; xAI keeps API requests for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and then deletes them. We do not use your documents to train models, and we do not sell or share your data.

Security

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Access to systems is limited to the operator.

Your choices

You can cancel at any time and ask us to delete your account data by writing to support@balancedrows.com.
